It all Depends on Luck!!
Whoever said" I'd rather be lucky than good" thought deeply into Life. Many of us are oftenly afraid to face the fact that : A great part of our lives depends on Luck! Bt it sually does!!
There are moments in a match when the ball hits the top of the net & for a asplit of a second it can either go forward or fall back! With a little luck it gives forward & you win or maybe it doesnt an U lose!! And that still is all Good/Bad Luck!!

Of course I believe in luck. How otherwise to explain the success of some people you detest?

A very interesting topic you bring up. Maybe it's destiny? Maybe no matter what you do your fate is set?? Or maybe it's just probability? You try something so many times, the better your odds for succeeding ?? But what about people who are born without the chance to even attempt anything ??? Worse still, what about those who are born without the NEED - born in a proverbial paradise?? Pengine you are right, pengine ni bahati tu ...

I believe in luck, how else can you explain ME? lol
@mwangi, I hope one's destiny is not pre-determined. It would suck to know that all my hard work is rendered useless by destiny.

Luck, destiny, favour, etc sound all the same. I believe we make our own luck.

i dont know if i believe in luck. i usually look at it as a blessing. the blessing either goes ur way or it doesnt. God knows whats best for all of us, although we dont always agree with the choices he makes for our lives its all for the best.

I think it is mapenzi ya mungu. if something was meant to happen it will, if not, then not.

  • At 2/3/07 14:31, Blogger Komi

I agree with chatterly...not luck but God. That is how I look at all things good and bad. I have a habit of praying over everything even the small insignificant stuff. And if it is of God, it comes to pass. If not, then it doesn't happen no matter what moves I pull, which is normally okay after a few tears.

This topic is mind-boggling indeed. Maybe God set the process of life to be self-sustaining, i.e he doesn't actively control our every single detail in life??
It's really hard to discount the role of chance/probability ... but it's even harder to discount the power of God. So maybe it's both ???

    @Mwangi
Wow! I love dat! Lookin at it from ur point of view, I think it might be possible the process itself is self-sustaining!Bt God's Power over Life itself is Big n that cant be Ingored!

    In general

    Life is a crap shoot

But it helps to be a good shot by using you head properly and learning from your mistakes

Your blog is okay, happy paths, and at your age there are still many in the future.

luck is for people who believe in fate. although without luck we wouldn't be here.

    life.

Considering all the things I have done in my life. All the experiences I have had.

All the places I have gone.

I have been very lucky. Never a hungry day, never a day without a little money.

And here I am at 63 with property that is free and clear, a roof over my head. And a simple life that I prefer.

I have a lot of skills, I think that helped with the luck a lot.

I moved to this town to be a bum, turns out I'm not very good at it. LOL

    luck, fate, destiny:

in my opinion they are human constructs to attempt to demystify outcomes that may or may not have anything to do with the supernatural. I'd say luck points more towards probabilistic causation ... and fate + destiny towards the role of a supreme being.

i returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift nor the battle to the strong neither yet bread to the wise nor yet riches to men of understanding nor yet favour to men of skill but time and chance happenth to them all! -eccl. [i dont remember the chapter]

    Hey Klara,
Popped in by accident, but since I'm here...I'll give you what you desire...a response.
Show me a person who basis all on luck, and I'll show you a Godless individual who has lost all faith.
Luck is found in Las Vegas, Nevada. whether you win or lose...the outcome is one that is poisonous.
I have seen more happy people that are "broke" than "rich" people that are happy.
The majority of your readers are "Lost" as well.
    Nice website though!
