nairobi & rain
What is it about Nrb that when it rains it has to cause such chaos around?First I couldn't pull myself to wake up, My eyes couldn't just pop open no matter how I tried, It was terribly chilly outside the covers, then when I finally did..I realised I was gonna late for work, and then the traffic jam, I just couldn't believe it!!All those hours in that traffic jam!!
Call it madness but whenever it rains things just get chaotic around here, that's when the matatu fares tripple, and then traffic snail...

YES, I know rains are a blessings, I just hate when it rains in the mornings or evenings when I aint in the house! Why can't it just rain at night when everyone is safe in their beds?
I wonder where the days when rains used to get me excited went to?When I was a kid & could sneak out to go and dance in the rain...............

You used to dance in the rain? This just reminded me of the one time I did that [when I was similarly young] in definance of any attempts to get me indoors or put on something warm or something. Ended up getting admitted to hospital with pneumonia. That was the end of my dancing-in-the-rain days.

It's been raining at the most awkward hours in Kampala too, and the mess afterward is just the same.
You mean your bosses don't admit excuses like 'it rained'?

The fares thing is oh so true!! as for dancin' in the rain....heehee! I was told you grow taller when you're rained on....lakini all the same the Gods have to take a leak...

At least it is not snow. Once the rains are gone, unless there is poor drainage, that's it. For snow with it staying on forever before thawing is a mess. If it snowed in Nairobi, matatu fairs might quintuple!

i think its cool that our weather for now is cool, despite the lever effects it triggers.last week i read that come 50yrs from now the weather will be much changed to such a degree that there will be anticipation of no rain True story Its been scientifically proven(no fake ideas) so let it rain on you!

you cannot be talking about the cold. i'm telling you!! until you have to walk around with an electric blanket and 4 layers of clothing, it's NOT COLD. but the chaos, too true... i hate it when you have to javv and some mean driver speeds past, splashing water on you.

You talk about rain and i wanna fly into my house immediately. Being on Thika road will make you want to faint when you think about rain. I trully feel you about the fares.. Just imagine it's one of those days close to end month..and as usual, you only have exact money to last you till pay day...and it rains...fares hiked....

I remember those times that you see the rain and you feel happy about it, or praying it rains profusely the parents will ask you not to go to school.
Now I see rain I feel depressed, its freezing, its depressing, its annoying. Gotta live with it anyways.

    Thanks for the love eh!!

Thank you very much for visiting my site. I hope you will come back soon. As for your post, I found it very interesting. Please forgive my ignorance but I must ask. What is it that keeps you from dancing the rain now? What has changed, the rain, or you?

Thanks again for your visit. :-)

But what i remain wonderin is that, it rains in Nayi and even if it doesn`t rain, its not as hot as Africa,....but

There is never green grass at the outskirst of Nayi esp the Mombasa Highway side...waht could the geographical chemistry?

The most absurd poeple in the whole wide world are those foul mouthed matatu drivers and their makangaz. They increase fares in the slightest of a drizzle as if it just drizzled the benjamins. One day, one day, they will get a taste of their medicine. Kiboko yao iko motoni.

  • At 15/11/06 16:21, Blogger Klara

  • At 21/11/06 09:51, Blogger Xave

    Imagine?...

Imagine a man who is not afraid to kiss you in the rain
A lover who holds you tight as God's tears wash away your pain
Would you care about the neighbors as you smile into his eyes?
Or would lick the raindrops from his lips until he's hypnotized?

    I wonder... :-)

  • At 21/11/06 19:04, Blogger eddiie
