U can call it Utter Nonsense!!
Yes…I know this days I can literally do anything on the net..From shopping to “Finding a soul mate" but I hadn’t realized how easy it was for me to be conned. Believe me! It almost happened!
Well, I get this “Treat Urgently & Confidential” mail from one ALAZIM YADAV, “The Director in charge of auditing section” BANK OF AFRICA in Burkina Faso, requesting me to claim inheritance of some deceased Swiss account holder in the Bank by claiming to be his next of kin & presenting a foreign account where I will need the money to be re-transferred into. The sum in question was some whooping $15.5Million!
The deal was genuinely tempting but being A Nairobian has taught me to always think twice when the deal is too good.
And the idea of giving a stranger my personal data including my account No. seemed too dangerous so I requested a face-face meeting, which he’s yet to agree to?
Jeez!! It amazes me on how cunning these guys are!!

Looks like you have been introduced to the world of the good ol' 419. It happens all the time. One time I got such an email, and I entered into dialogue with the sender. I pretended I was interested, and strung him along. After 3 exchanges, he sent an angry email asking if I was serious and that he would stop everything if I continued acting up. I just sent him back email saying I wanted to talk to him and his backers first before going forward. I asked him to give me his bank information so I could verify it. 5 years later he has yet to respond. It would be very funny were it not for the fact that some people actually do fall for this and get conned out of plenty of money.

you say he refused to meet you face to face? then he was an amateur in the game. i sit with them nigerians in the cyber daily and once witnessed a meetup with a client. the guy,who is usually untidy did a complete make over complete with a borowed Mercedes Benz and rented a suite and an office at the Hilton in Durban. when i saw him in the car i thot i was mistaken. he had changed completely. the 'client' was from UAE. needless to say, he squeezed like $20,000 dollars from him and disappeared. these guys don't mind meeting their 'clients' at all. it is all part of the 'business.' just be careful with such mail.

When you receive such emails see to it that you change your password. Usually this messages are sent automatically by trojans or whatever. Be careful what cyber you browse from if use a cyber.

Sometime last year I received a mail from a company calling themselves Sweetwin Promotions (UK) Ltd. They claimed I had won some US$ 5,500,000 (The $ was changing at KeS75 at the time)for using Microsoft products. First thing I checked was their email address which read like sweetwin@hotmail.com. You would be very gullible if you fell for this one. I checked in the internet about their existence and noted that I wasnt the only one gettin such mails. Others had even been promised US$ 10 Million. I decided to play games with them and kept replying to their every email. They sent me certificates (which I still hold) proving I had really won. To cut the wrong storo, they asked me to send them US1,500 so that they could facilitate Electronic TT to my account. How apt!

Lemmie confess kidogo here. I had dreams of how I would spend such money.

They're idiots looking out for unsuspecting citizens to scam. Had a post on them some months ago. Check out my archives. They're also dealt with in www.419eater.com where theya re named and shamed severally by a journalist they've attempted to scam. Check out his Picture Gallery. Hillarious!!!
